What about fabric? I'm assuming you can't paint. But you could do something with a cool fabric.
Well, we can paint. There's some pictures on Katy's blog. We're doing two accent walls yellow. This wall, we're having more problems with hanging pictures. I don't know if we're up to painting the whole room. Were you thinking like hanging a tapestry or something? Tell us more!
Sure, tapestry could work. That would be expensive though.
I was just thinking some cool fabric that you like. If you find one with a pattern you like, you could use it like wallpaper. If you find one with a texture you like (say velvet or something) you could do something sort of drapey and cool.
For example: Matthew found some cool Japanese crane material that he really liked. But I don't sew, and he didn't especially want to wear it--he wanted to look at it. So I had him build a simple wooden frame (basically square dowels hammered together) in the size space he wanted to fill. Then I stretched the fabric over the frame, staple-gunned it, spritzed it with water (to help the fabric shrink a little bit and tighten up on the frame) and voila: a cool, Japanese crane piece of wall art. Super easy, super cheap.
If you found a group of fabrics you liked, you could do a collection of fabric frames of varying sizes which would give the wall some interest, AND fill up the vast white wasteland of wall.
a warm peachy color.
