words

Why isn't the word verification ever an actual word?

And speaking of words, The Meaning of Tingo just came in on hold for me.

Tingo (Pascuense, Easter Island) to take all the objects one desires from the house of a friend, one at a time, by borrowing them.

It's not an actual word because then spammers could just throw the dictionary at word verification and get in to spam comments. They do the same thing with passwords - which is why it is so useful to have numbers and odd word combos in your password. I've watched automatic hacking engines try to get into my company's system before and it is amazing to watch long passwords getting solved in minutes by the engines when they were only words or phrases. Scary!! Anyway, that is the long answer.

Thank you! At least now I know there's a reason behind the madness.
